  The room was large and airy and the view was gorgeous. The staff were very nice

  As soon as I arrived I remembered what a "resort" was...we don't really have them in New Zealand. The atmosphere in these places is pretty unsophisticated and this is reflected particularly in the standard of food on offer. I don't really enjoy the "holiday for idiots" approach where everything is provided. Having said that I was annoyed to find that the weekly schedule provided was incorrect in that it advertised a yoga class that didn't actually exist. The setting was nice but I won't make the mistake of staying in a resort again.

  The location, the room, the friendliness of the staff

  Unfortunately when we got to our room, we found that the tv had no remote control, and 2 of their lamps weren't working. This is going to sound really horrible but the next morning my husband woke up and his body was covered with ants! Yes you read right, we couldn't believe our eyes either. They seemed to have appeared from inside the bed, only on my husband side but afterwards they were all over. We never ate on the bed, and both of us showered before sleeping too. The staff also couldn't believe what we were reporting, but they were gracious enough to return $50.00 of what we paid so it was all ok. We have video and pictures to prove it!!! But otherwise the hotel was excellent, pity about those ants. I think the room just hasn't been used for a while.. Still!!!

  Excellent location, if you want to avoid the crowded Honolulu area. Location is clean and safe, nice facilities on resort grounds.

  Although staff are mostly friendly, they have at least one really nasty person among those working the front desk, who was able to almost ruin our entire stay there and to completely spoil our impression of the resort as far as their staff goes.

  Fantastic setting, choice of restaurants..a real touch of luxury. Watched the surfers with a backdrop of an amazing sunset. The room was very comfortable.

  There was only 1 receptionist and we had to wait a long time to check in.

  Amazing location. Amazing views. Excellent grounds. Full balconies. Good staff. Limited dining. Fair housekeeping.

  The color of the complimentary robes. (Particularly the blood stains.)

  It's in a jaw dropping location and has access to a fab range of local services including a beautiful golf course.

  The hotel decor is in desperate need of renewal. Our bath was chipped, very tatty bathroom. The ocean view room actually overlooked the kids pool and was noisy. We were on a romantic break and disappointed to be in twin beds rather than the kingsize advertised. I was very taken aback to be told that, on top of the room charge quoted online, there would also be a compulsory daily 'resort' rate plus the hotel would hold a $150 per day holding deposit in lieu of meals etc charged to the room. I'm still waiting for them to refund the deposit even though I settled the bill in full at checkout. Also it seemed understaffed: we queued to check in, to use the concierge service, to eat breakfast, to use the business centre.

  The location is perfect with the view on the ocean...it's perfect to enjoy the nothshore of oahu and listen to the wind and the waves by night. The bar/restaurant outside is very good, the food is really good and the staff very nice

  The check-in took a while (15 minutes to wait that the guy found our reservation!!!). The room was not really clean: the bedsheet and the pillows were smelling bad and the bathroom was not really clean...it's amazing for a 5 stars hotel!! You have to pay for everything, we were here for our honeymoon and it's really frustrating to see that you even have to pay to have a souvenir mug or the puppet that they are placing on the bed when you arrive. We have been to another hotel at waikiki for 2 other nights and we got a lot of free stuff (coolbox, beach bags, coupons...). For the price the breakfast could be included

  It was a staycation for me instead of my usual trip to the mainland this year. I didn't have to fly anywhere, never left the resort and could as well been on a neighbor island. The view from my room, 246, was perfect as was the sound of the surf. I will do this again! Twenty One for dinner was disappointing, and I would have wished for another option for lunch. I did eat two breakfasts and two dinners at LeiLei's and much enjoyed it there. I would have liked to be able to have a regular breakfast menu at a restaurant in the hotel.. A buffet is too much. All in all, it was great.

  quiet.good for relaxing.Nice views and close to nature.

  Our check in was very slow.had to wait about 45mins...because it was late and the resort is isolated there were limited meal options.also the in-room menu did not offer much because the chef had finished his shift.They should offer a shuttle bus service that runs to the city about two times a day.

  Its location is wonderful, the beaches, everything! The Ola bar is very relaxing, and 21 degrees is delicious!

  The rooms are very old, they are more like a three stars hotel. But still they are comfortable, big, with incredible views in a wonderful location. You have to know you are not going to a fancy 5 stars hotel like the ones in Honolulu, but if you like nature, beaches and an incredible location you will love it!!

  Good location for the North Shore. Good surfing. Good beach.

  Very expensive overpriced hotel. Rooms need refurbishment. I couldn't believe breakfast wasn't included at the price. Resort tax is a hidden rip off.
